In order to better assist non-Japanese residents living in Hiroshima Prefecture, the HIC provides a variety of services via a foreign language consultation window. Our consultants can respond to a wide range of inquiries, from residency (VISA) requirements to social insurance and labor law questions. Consultant availability / hours
There are a number of different consultants available, knowledgeable in fields ranging from labor issues to immigration law. ALL CONSULTATIONS ARE CONFIDENTIAL.
Lifestyle Consultant:
Working at the HIC reception desk, these individuals can help you with basic information regarding life in Japan: where to get things, how to get around. etc. They are not specialist advisors although they can be very helpful for people as of yet unfamiliar with life in Hiroshima. Available any time the HIC is open.
VISA requirements / inquiries:
Available Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. 9:00 - 13:00

Social Insurance, Labor Issues, etc.:
- Available Thursday and Sunday.
- Thurs: 9:00 - 13:00

- All consultations are confidential.
- In the event that a social insurance, VISA, or other specialist consultant is not available, please feel free to speak with the relevant specialist interpreter. They will relay your inquiry.
- For information regarding our Japanese language programs (or other general lifestyle issues), please speak with the lifestyle consultant at the reception desk (English, Japanese).
- In the event of a consultation, please come early enough to conclude your inquiry by the days specified closing time (13:00 on weekdays, 13:30 on Sundays).
